Drivers License Requirements

All drivers must be in possession of a full-unendorsed driver’s license at the time of rental. (Certain minor endorsements may be acceptable, please call us prior to booking). All drivers must have held a full driver’s license for at least 24 months prior to hiring a van with valueVan Rentals and must present themselves with their full-unendorsed driver’s license at the pick up location at the time of rental.

Age Requirements & Restrictions*

Own Insurance Policy

Drivers must be over 21 years of age and have held their full license for at least 24 months prior to the date of pickup. There is no upper age limit.

Our Insurance

The minimum age to rent a van is 25. Drivers must have held their fully, unendorsed license for at least 24 months prior to the date of pickup. The maximum age for renting a commercial vehicle on our insurance is 70.

Any persons covered comprehensively on your insurance policy will be insured to drive our vehicle.

Our Insurance

Additional drivers can be added locally for an additional charge of €10 per day per driver. Drivers must be at least 25 years of age and have held a full drivers license for at least 24 months prior to hiring a van. The maximum age to be a named driver on a commercial vehicle is 70.

Insurance Cover/Transfers

Value Van Rentals can provide insurance on commercial vehicle. This is subject to certain criteria and a deductible of €1700. This deductible cannot be reduced. Drivers must possess a full drivers license for at least 24 months prior to the pick up date and must be at least 25 years of age. Insurance is purchased online at the time of pickup. If you have your own fully comprehensive motor policy you may wish to transfer this onto our vehicle on a temporary basis. This is subject to your insurance company agreeing to do so. Value Van Rentals will complete the initial insurance transfer to our vehicle. However the hirer is responsible for ensuring fully comprehensive cover is provided on our vehicle at all times during the rental.

Going Abroad

Hirer’s leaving Ireland in one of our vehicles must provide their own fully comprehensive insurance and also purchase AA Five Star Cover. This is an excellent service giving travelers roadside assistance and numerous other benefits, also in the event of an accident the vehicle will be shipped back to the Republic of Ireland. The cover costs €54 for up to five days for AA members and €69 for non members. It can be purchased at AA Ireland (01) 6179977

Methods of Payment

For reservations made via the internet Value Van Rentals accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Diners Club credit cards. Unfortunately Value Van Rentals are unable to process payment on Debit Cards for internet bookings. When clients arrived to pick up their vehicle they must be in possession of and present to Value Van Rentals a major credit card held in the main drivers name. This credit card must have sufficient funds to cover the cost of the vehicle, Unfortunately Value Van Rentals cannot accept cash as a method of payment. We regret we cannot accept the credit card of a third party who will not be present at the time of the rental.

Speeding – Parking and other Endorsements/ Fines

Speeding – Parking and other Endorsements/ Fines are the responsibility of the hirer in full. Value Van Rentals accepts no responsibility for any fine or payment. The renter is obliged to inform value Van Rentals of any fines or parking tickets issued whilst the renter is using the vehicle.

Van Types Available

Value Van Rentals operates a fleet with many different makes and models of vans which can be seen on this site. Whilst every effort will be made to supply the reserved model, we reserve the right to supply a suitable alternative. Unfortunately due to our extended fleet we cannot guarantee a particular make or model and vehicles shown on our website are only examples of what we have on fleet. All vans are equipped with manufacturer’s radios and CD players.

Baby Seats – Child Seats

Please note babyseats are not permitted in commercial vehicles

Grace Period

Please note there is no grace period on commercial vehicle rentals. Additional charges are incurred once the rental extends its original return date/time, Vehicles are restricted to 120 kms per day unless arranged with our staff.

* Please note that at all times the final discretion rests with the Value Van Rentals agent as to whether a booking is completed. In the highly unlikely event that the Value Van Rentals agent is not completely satisfied with a drivers credentials/qualifications we reserve the right to refuse to release a rental van.

Barrier-free Toll Road

Travelling on the M50 ?  New barrier free tolling now in place If you are travelling on the M50 motorway in Dublin during your rental, please note that there is a barrier-free tolling system in operation.  The toll plaza is situated between junction 6 and junction 7.  As the renter of the vehicle, you are responsible for payment of this toll.  Payment must be made by 8pm on the day following your journey via one of the methods below: ·         Online at www.eflow.ie ·         By phone on LoCall number 1890 50 10 50 (from Republic of Ireland) or 0845 3015405 (from Northern Ireland) ·         In person using the Payzone branded outlets nationwide that display the eFlow logo Any penalties incurred for non-payment of the toll will be automatically charged to the card used for the rental by Value Van Rental’s, along with our current standard administration fee of €15.00 + VAT per penalty.
